AIS was founded in 1975 by Duncan Dwelle as a general management consulting service for clients who benefit from his blend of practical executive leadership and technical design innovation. We have typically been involved with clients on strategic issues of information technology and operations structure.

Over the last ten years, AIS has worked extensively with software vendors by providing theoretical foundation, product design, and marketing strategy for many leading software design tools. Among those are CASEwise, ER/Studio, ERwin, InfoModeler, PowerDesigner, Silverrun, Synon, System Architect, and Uniface.

AIS has also been closely involved in developing e-commerce methods and systems requiring high degrees of automated integration with enterprise database applications.

Today AIS is a research and teaching vehicle for Duncan Dwelle in the pursuit of software as science, not alchemy.
