1997 Consortium update

A vast bulk of OLTP data still resides on IMS or VSAM. And there is increasing awareness that mainframes will not go away.

Legacy access has become an important topic at very least for data warehouse sources and year 2000 issues.Sybase has no product intentions but is actively considering partners with legacy data access capabilities.
