In his Nov 27 InfoWorld column, Robert X. Cringley says "[Texas Instruments] spent years and years developing Arranger, a client/server package. So far TI Software has sold 10. Ten." Oops! (no pun intended) On a smaller scale, I have to ask myself what chance InTek has offering its Vivid Clarity product with no price or feature advantages against such established players as Powersoft's StarDesignor.
A personal plug: one new entrant I'm rooting for is Datasonix with its nifty little Pereos tape backup unit about the size of a pocket radio. Pereos stores up to 1 Gigabyte on a micro-cassette tape and has worked flawlessly for me, at home and on the road, for most of a year. Hope they survive the standards shakeout!
